Delivering a Multi-Language Healthcare Platform at Speed and Scale

Reflexions is a New York City–based digital innovation lab that designs and builds advanced digital platforms for forward-thinking organizations. When tasked with delivering a new healthcare platform for Housing Works Healthcare, Reflexions partnered with Speedlane to meet tight deadlines and complex requirements.

The catch? Housing Works Healthcare’s legacy website had limited functionality, an aggressive deadline, and a complex multilingual CMS. It was a high-stakes project with no room for error.

The Challenge

Reflexions faced tight deadlines to deliver a new healthcare platform for Housing Works Healthcare, a critical service provider. The existing site needed a full rebuild to improve reliability and accessibility, with just two months to launch an MVP meeting strict multilingual and accessibility requirements, while also establishing a flexible, structured CMS that would support reusable content, global updates, and long-term maintainability.

Outcome

Speedlane delivered a complete rebuild of the Housing Works Healthcare platform in two months, launching a fully accessible, multilingual, and technically robust site on time despite a complex CMS migration and tight deadlines. The result is a flexible, maintainable platform built around reusable content modules, enabling Housing Works to scale and evolve the site efficiently through Speedlane’s fast execution.

Impact

The new site significantly enhanced healthcare access for Housing Works’ multilingual community by being faster, more user-friendly, and fully compliant with modern accessibility standards. Its modular, reusable content structure enables ongoing improvements and rapid iteration, and Reflexions valued the collaboration and now relies on Speedlane to support and maintain over fifteen client sites, with additional projects underway.

Services

  • Front-end and back-end development
  • CMS migration and content architecture
  • Multilingual content automation
  • Accessibility compliance (WCAG standards)
  • Technical discovery and planning

Adding layers of sophistication

  • The CMS had to be migrated from Craft 2 to Craft 5.
  • The CMS structure is advanced and offers components reusability across different sections and pages, which made automatic content translation a challenging task.
  • The site required automated multilingual content creation, instantly generating translations across five languages as new content is published.

What We Did

Speedlane came in at a critical moment. With just weeks on the clock, we rebuilt the entire Housing Works Healthcare site from the ground up fast, clean, and reliable.

CMS Overhaul: Migrated content from Craft CMS 2 to 5 with zero data loss, while introducing a modular, reusable content structure for long-term flexibility.

Frontend Rewire: Rebuilt the interface by migrating from a legacy Vue.js implementation to a modern, maintainable Vue.js architecture focused on performance.

Multilingual Automation: Integrated the Google Translate API into a custom asynchronous queue system that automatically triggers background translations whenever editors add or update content in the CMS. This system ensures translated versions (Spanish, French, Turkish, Chinese, and Creole) are duplicated and deployed across the CMS structure without interrupting the editorial workflow.

Accessibility from Scratch

Accessibility was built into the site from the ground up, ensuring full compliance with modern standards without relying on retrofitting or temporary fixes.

This approach guarantees a truly inclusive user experience.

Key Actions

We ran daily stand-ups with the Reflexions team. When things broke, we fixed them in real time often skipping formal ticketing to keep the pace up. The collaboration was hands-on, fast moving and built on trust.

The new Housing Works Healthcare site launched on time and met all design and technical requirements. It’s now fully accessible, multilingual, and far easier to manage. The Reflexions team gave especially strong feedback on our responsiveness and ability to resolve issues in real time.
